Looking for meaningful ways to make a difference in your community? The Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum is inviting teens, young adults, families, and community members of all ages to discover how they can get involved at its first-ever Civic Fair.
While voting is one of the most important ways to participate in civic life, it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Building a stronger community also happens through volunteering, advocacy, education, and supporting local organizations that work to improve the lives of others.
At the Civic Fair, attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from a variety of local nonprofits and community organizations, including:
- ELECT SouthCoast
- PACE, Inc.
- YWCA Southeastern Massachusetts
- Youth Opportunities Unlimited
- New Bedford Historical Society
- Waterfront Historic Area LeaguE (WHALE)
Each organization will share information about its mission, current initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and ways residents can become active participants in strengthening the SouthCoast community.
