The Fairhaven Police Department, in conjunction with the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, is investigating a domestic stabbing that occurred Tuesday morning and resulted in a 55-year-old man sustaining life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 10:46 a.m. on July 1, Fairhaven Police officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting that a man had been stabbed near 34 Middle Street. Witnesses reported seeing the victim outside the residence holding a cloth to his chest while requesting help. An officer working a nearby detail also reported that a man had suffered an apparent stab wound.
Responding officers located the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
The investigation determined that the stabbing occurred inside a second-floor residence on Main Street before the victim made his way to Middle Street. During the investigation, officers also responded to the parking lot of Wah May Restaurant, 51 Main Street, where a second individual, later identified as the suspect, was located. Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Mattapoisett and Acushnet Police Departments.
Following an investigation conducted by the Fairhaven Police Department, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory, Keira Colon, 42, was arrested in connection with the incident.
Colon has been charged with:
- Assault with Intent to Murder
- Two counts of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury
Colon is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, July 2, in New Bedford District Court.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the victim is Colon’s boyfriend, and investigators have determined the incident was domestic in nature.

All charges are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
