The Boston Celtics announced today that the team has acquired forward Paul George, two future first-round draft picks (2028 and 2031), and two future second-round draft picks (2028 and 2030) from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for forward Jaylen Brown.
Brown departs Boston after spending 10 seasons with the organization. Since being selected by the Celtics with the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Brown developed into one of the league’s premier two-way players and played a key role in the franchise’s sustained success over the past decade.
George joins the Celtics after spending the past two seasons with the 76ers. During the 2025-26 campaign, the veteran forward averaged 17.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 37 games. He missed time during the season because of a knee injury and a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.
The Celtics also acquired Philadelphia’s 2028 and 2031 first-round draft picks, as well as the 76ers’ 2028 and 2030 second-round selections, as part of the transaction.
Per team policy, additional terms of the trade were not disclosed.
