While normal citizens were busy recovering from a sugar crash and trying to figure out how to explain their Halloween costumes to coworkers, an unspeakable, horrifying crime was unfolding along the Fall River waterfront. Barrett’s Waterfront has suffered a devastating loss, and no, it’s not their draft beer selection.
Someone has committed a cold-blooded, skeletal atrocity: they stole Bona Lisa’s head.
Yes, you read that correct. After years of loyal, uncomplaining service—greeting thousands of guests, holding down the patio aesthetic, and literally asking for nothing in return (mostly because she’s a giant plastic skeleton decoration)—our girl Bona Lisa has been brutally decapitated. She has been a cherished member of the Barrett’s Waterfront family for years, and this is how she gets repaid? By turning into a spooky DIY trophy for some local delinquent?
Management at the Barrett’s Waterfront
restaurant is understandably beside themselves—or, more accurately, their girl is literally beside herself (well, most of herself). While the team appreciates a good Halloween prank as much as the next person, they are drawing the line at anatomically incorrect, oversized plastic vandalism.
In a heartfelt plea to the community posted straight from their Barrett’s Waterfront
page, the restaurant is offering a deal sweeter than free wings: bring the giant plastic skull back to the exact spot you found it. No questions asked. No repercussions. No hard feelings. Just put the poor plastic girl back together before November turns into a full-blown homicide investigation of the ghost-story variety.
So if you happen to know someone whose Halloween decor involves an uncomfortably large skeletal cranny taking up residency on a living room coffee table in Fall River, do the right thing.
#JusticeForBonaLisa. Help bring our girl home, one giant piece at a time.
