NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — .

The online survey is open through the end of November and is available to anyone 12 years of age or older.

According to the Health Department, residents’ participation will help DPH better understand the experiences of people living in cities and towns across Massachusetts. The information collected can help guide decisions about funding, resources, programs and policy changes aimed at reducing preventable differences in health outcomes between groups.

Survey Can Help New Bedford With Local Planning

Communities that collect enough survey responses will be able to access their own local data, along with statewide results. That information can be used to help communities make decisions about planning, policies and resource allocation based on the needs of their residents.

For New Bedford, strong participation could provide valuable insight into the experiences and concerns of local residents and help inform future public health efforts.

Survey Is Anonymous

The Community Health Equity Survey is anonymous. Participants will not be asked to provide their name, address or contact information.

The survey includes demographic questions as well as questions covering a variety of topics related to participants’ experiences.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and is available in 11 languages, including:

  • English
  • Arabic
  • Cape Verdean Creole
  • Chinese, simplified or traditional
  • Haitian Creole
  • Khmer
  • Portuguese
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Vietnamese

The survey will also soon be available in American Sign Language.

How to Participate

New Bedford residents who are 12 or older are encouraged to take part in the survey and help provide information that can shape future health programs and policies.
