
In response to the extreme heat forecast for the region, the City of Fall River will open cooling centers to provide residents with a safe, air-conditioned space to stay cool from Thursday, July 2, through Saturday, July 4.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these locations, particularly older adults, young children, individuals with chronic medical conditions, and anyone without access to adequate air conditioning.
Cooling Center Schedule
Government Center (Cafeteria Entrance Only)
One Government Center, Fall River
- Thursday, July 2: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Friday, July 3: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Steppingstone, Inc.
134 Durfee Street, Fall River
- Saturday, July 4: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The City encourages residents to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat hours, check on neighbors and loved ones who may be vulnerable to heat-related illness, and never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
