Law enforcement in Fall River have successfully apprehended the second and final suspect connected to a violent machete attack earlier this month.
During the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 28, 2026, members of the Fall River Police Department C.A.S.T. Team located 38-year-old Danny Nieves. Nieves was the second suspect wanted in connection with the October 15 assault at the Brayton Avenue homeless encampment.
According to police, Nieves attempted to flee on foot, but the pursuit was brief, and officers quickly took him into custody without further incident. He was wanted on outstanding warrants for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Robbery.
His co-defendant, 43-year-old Jason Ramalho, was previously arrested by the C.A.S.T. Team on October 23. With both men now behind bars, the primary suspects in the violent encounter are off the streets.
Authorities noted that the successful resolution of this case was a true community and inter-departmental effort, highlighting the initial response by the Patrol Bureau, the thorough investigation run by the Major Crimes Division, and the decisive arrests made by C.A.S.T. The department also expressed gratitude to community members who shared information and helped amplify the investigation.
