For young Bode, a regular school morning turned into an unforgettable adventure. As the big winner of a recent drawing from the Mattapoisett Fire Rescue Open House, Bode was all smiles on his way to school after winning a thrilling ride to class in a real fire truck.
Department staff shared the exciting milestone online, noting, “Today was the big day! Bode was all smiles on the way to school this morning as he was the big winner from our ‘Win a ride to school in a fire truck’ drawing from our Open House a few weeks ago.”
Captain Macedo had the honor of pulling the winning entry, kicking off a morning that brought plenty of joy and excitement to the young student and community members alike. Responding to the heartwarming moment online, community supporters flooded the department’s page with love, with local resident Laura Dias commenting, “Thank you! Looks wonderful! Keep up the good work!”
For the Mattapoisett Fire Rescue team, it was just another way to connect with the community they serve—and for Bode, it was a ride to school he will certainly never forget.
