November marks a time of reflection, education, and community solidarity as cities across the nation observe Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. In a powerful display of support, the City of Fall River has stepped forward to join the nationwide Light the World in Teal initiative, shining a beacon of hope for the millions of individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
A Beacon of Support at Government Center
On the evening of November 2, the Fall River Government Center proudly illuminated City Hall in vibrant teal—the signature color of the Alzheimer’s movement. The glowing tribute serves as a visual reminder of the community’s steadfast commitment to those navigating the challenges of memory loss, cognitive decline, and caregiving.
The building will remain lit in teal through November 6, inviting residents, passersby, and local leaders to pause and reflect on the profound toll Alzheimer’s takes on families, while honoring the tireless work of caregivers and researchers.
Standing Together for a Crucial Cause
Spearheaded in collaboration with national advocacy groups such as the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America the annual initiative aims to break the stigma surrounding the disease, encourage early detection, and raise vital awareness for support services.
By turning its civic heart teal, Fall River reinforces that no one fights this battle alone. As the lights shine bright through November 6, the community stands united in empathy, awareness, and the shared hope for a future without Alzheimer’s.
