Wednesday’s Free Day at the New Bedford Whaling Museum was a tremendous success, with more than 700 visitors taking advantage of the opportunity to explore one of the city’s most treasured attractions at no cost.

The New Bedford Police Department’s Lead Outreach team was proud to participate, welcoming families, sharing valuable community resources, distributing informational materials and giveaways, and engaging with residents and visitors throughout the day.
We extend our sincere thanks to the New Bedford Whaling Museum for hosting this outstanding event and to the City’s Traffic Commission for providing free parking. We also thank the officers and staff who represented the department and helped make the day such a success.
Community events like these create meaningful opportunities to build relationships, improve accessibility, and strengthen the trust and partnerships between the New Bedford Police Department and the community we are proud to serve.
