The Healey-Driscoll Administration, in partnership with local and state officials, invites the public to attend the official Braga Bridge Lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, July 7, at the Senator Thomas Norton City Pier.
The event will begin at 8:00 p.m. with remarks from Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, members of the Healey-Driscoll Administration, State Representative Carole Fiola, State Senator Michael Rodrigues, MassDOT, Mayor Paul Coogan, and members of the Greater Fall River legislative delegation. Following the speaking program, attendees will join in a ceremonial countdown as the new architectural lighting on the Braga Bridge is illuminated for the first time.
The lighting project marks the culmination of years of planning and collaboration and makes the Braga Bridge one of only five illuminated bridges in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The project is intended to enhance the city’s waterfront, celebrate a local landmark, and create a striking new feature on the Fall River skyline.
Community members are encouraged to attend this historic celebration and enjoy an evening of entertainment, refreshments, and family-friendly activities at the scenic Senator Thomas Norton City Pier.
