Bridgewater State University has provided an update regarding a student identified in a community notification concerning a Level 3 sex offender in Bridgewater.
According to BSU, the student was suspended after the university determined that he had not fully disclosed a previous felony conviction on his admissions application. The university stated that the individual had never attended classes at BSU.
Under the terms of the suspension, the individual was prohibited from entering the BSU campus and from participating in any university courses, programs, or activities, either in person or online.
BSU later issued an additional update stating that the individual is no longer a registered student at the university.
The university’s statement follows a notification made pursuant to the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Law regarding Level 3 sex offenders who live, work, or attend school in Bridgewater.
BSU said the update was provided to keep the university community informed about the individual’s status and the actions taken by the university.
The university has not indicated that the individual attended classes or participated in BSU programs before the suspension.
