Sometimes the job isn’t chasing bad guys… sometimes it’s saving tiny paws!
Last Tuesday, as heavy rain poured down, Team RPD received a call from a concerned resident about a helpless kitten struggling to survive the storm.
Without hesitation, Sgt. Connor Leddin and Officer Cailin White responded. They didn’t mind getting completely soaked if it meant giving this little one a fighting chance. Thanks to their quick action, the kitten was safely rescued.
A few days later, the RPD is happy to report this tiny survivor is healthy, warm, well-fed, and enjoying plenty of love under the care of Sgt. Catherine Connolly.
And here’s a fun surprise…
Anyone who knows the Chief knows he’s always claimed to be a dog person. But even he couldn’t resist spending a few minutes cuddling our newest four-legged friend.
Moments like these remind us all that protecting and serving means being there whenever help is needed—whether it’s for a neighbor, a family, or a tiny kitten caught in the rain.
Great job to Sgt. Leddin, Officer White, and Sgt. Connolly for showing that compassion is at the heart of what we do.
