Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III has identified the bicyclist who was killed in a crash involving a dump truck on Route 6 in Dartmouth on Tuesday.
Dartmouth Police and Massachusetts State Police responded to the area of 832 State Road (Route 6 westbound) at approximately 11:54 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting the crash.
When officers arrived, they found a dump truck stopped on the right side of the roadway. A preliminary investigation determined that the truck had collided with a bicyclist.
The victim was identified as Denise Olson, 74, of Westport. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not said what led to the collision, and it remains unclear what circumstances caused the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
