A 3-year-old child is expected to recover after falling from a window Wednesday evening in Fall River, in what police described as a “miraculous” outcome.
According to the Fall River Police Department, officers responded to Aetna Street just after 5 p.m. following reports that a young child had fallen from a window. When first responders arrived, the child was conscious and crying.
Police said the child was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for treatment.
In an update Thursday morning, Fall River police said the 3-year-old is in stable condition and, despite the fall, did not suffer any serious or life-threatening injuries.
Authorities described the child’s survival without major injuries as “miraculous.”
No additional details about the circumstances of the fall have been released, and it is unclear whether the incident remains under investigation.
