
In observation of the “America 250” celebration on Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Somerset Police Department will enact a series of parking and traffic restrictions in the SLADE’S FERRY DISTRICT, including Slade’s Ferry Boulevard and Slade’s Ferry Avenue, and extending northbound on Riverside Avenue towards Newhill Avenue, in order to facilitate the safe and orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLES parked in posted areas will be tagged and towed if necessary.
All parking restrictions will be in place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, between the hours of 8am-10pm. We appreciate the public’s cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.
PARKING will be RESTRICTED as indicated below (8am-10pm):
- Slade’s Ferry Boulevard – No parking both sides;
- Slade’s Ferry Avenue – No Parking south side of roadway, adjacent to the Town-owned Park and Ride;
- Brayton Avenue – No parking utility pole side of the roadway only, south of Slade’s Ferry Boulevard
to McArthur Avenue and north of GAR Highway to Westhill Avenue; - Newhill Avenue – No parking south side of roadway;
- Westhill Avenue – No parking utility pole side of the roadway only; and,
- Longhill Avenue – No Parking utility pole side of the roadway only.
TRAFFIC will be RESTRICTED as indicated below (1pm-10pm):
- Slade’s Ferry Boulevard – No vehicular traffic from Riverside Avenue to the north/south access way to
Slade’s Ferry Avenue; - Slade’s Ferry Avenue – No vehicular traffic from Riverside Avenue to the north/south access way to
Slade’s Ferry Boulevard; and, - Newhill Avenue – No eastbound vehicular traffic from Brayton Avenue to Riverside Avenue, creating
a one-way westbound only from Riverside Avenue to Brayton Avenue.
