In the halls of the Rodman School, a classroom assignment recently proved that the sweetest compliments often come in the most unexpected packages.
When a clever second-grade student sat down to create a “WANTED” poster for a class project, their prime suspect wasn’t a cartoon villain or a mischievous outlaw. Instead, the young student chose School Resource Officer Leanne Fisher, declaring her a top-tier “good citizen.”
The reasoning? Officer Fisher simply “helps the community, talks to kids about being safe, and arrests the bad guys!”
A Surprise Visit That Stole the Show
Word of the heartwarming artwork soon reached Officer Fisher, who decided that a project this special deserved a personal thank-you. Accompanied by Sergeant Agnieszka Ciarka, Officer Fisher dropped by the classroom for an unforgettable surprise visit.
The officers spent time chatting with the enthusiastic students, answering their curious questions about daily police work, and handing out custom police coloring hat sheets for everyone to enjoy.
Building Bridges, One Classroom at a Time
Moments like these highlight the extraordinary impact of community policing. For these young students, seeing local officers step into their classroom transforms men and women in uniform from authority figures into trusted friends and protectors.
Thank you to the wonderful staff and students at the Rodman School
for rolling out the welcome mat, and a special shout-out to Officer Fisher and Sergeant Ciarka for reminding us all that building trust and spreading kindness is the most important job in the world.
