ACUSHNET, Mass. — Care, compassion, and a few spare hours a week can make a world of difference for rescue animals in our community. CARE, Southcoast is issuing an urgent call for volunteers to help care for the cats currently under their shelter’s protection.
To keep their feline residents healthy, comfortable, and well-loved, the shelter relies heavily on dedicated community members to assist with essential daily tasks—including feeding, cleaning habitats, and providing much-needed social interaction and affection.
While help is always appreciated, the shelter is facing a critical need for coverage during several key shifts throughout the week:
- Mornings: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Nights: Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and every other Thursday
Even a commitment of just a couple of hours a week can directly impact the well-being of these animals while they await their forever homes. Whether you are looking for a meaningful way to give back or spend time around animals, shelter staff emphasize that every volunteer effort matters immensely.
