An Acton teen accused of killing his mother and younger brother had used ChatGPT to create fantasy stories about killing his family, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said Wednesday.
During a press conference at the Acton Police Department, Ryan said Arjun Aravind is suspected in the deaths of his mother, Sudha Venkatesan, 45, and his brother, Siddharth Aravind, 14. The killings occurred Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Aravind is charged with two counts each of murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on a family or household member. He also faces charges of theft of a vehicle and using a vehicle without authority.
Early Wednesday, WCVB-TV reported that Wayland police had taken a person they were questioning into custody and that a vehicle “similar in description” to one sought in connection with the Acton investigation had been towed.
Ryan said police activity Tuesday evening at a Hudson shopping plaza was also connected to the investigation.
