WESTPORT — It was an evening of heartfelt celebration, community pride, and high-energy competition as the Westport Unified High School Wildcats hosted Senior Night, honoring three remarkable student-athletes: Monty Jonsson, Joshua Sicard, and Matt Nogueira.
Accompanied by their proud parents, Jonsson, Sicard, and Nogueira took center stage before tip-off to be recognized for their exceptional hard work, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the Unified Basketball program over the past two years.
Once the pre-game honors concluded, the seniors took to the court alongside teammates Lilyana Gorman and Ethan Cabral for one final regular-season showdown. Driven by seamless teamwork, sharp execution, and relentless heart, the Wildcats powered past Riverview, sealing a dominant victory to close out the night.
The win caps an incredible season for Westport, finishing with an impressive 5–1 record.
While small in roster size, the Wildcats proved throughout the season to be mighty in spirit. Their sportsmanship, determination, and mutual support have left an indelible mark on the program and the entire Westport community.
Congratulations to Monty, Joshua, Matt, and the entire Wildcats roster on an extraordinary season. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!
