PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The quiet of a Saturday night was shattered on October 24, 2026, when a violent two-car collision at the intersection of Cedar Street and George Street sent emergency crews scrambling to a chaotic scene.
According to Detective Sergeant Trout, Pawtucket Police and Fire Department personnel rushed to the crash site at approximately 9:30 p.m., discovering a horrifying sight: an overturned vehicle resting heavily on its roof, with its operator trapped and semi-conscious inside.
A second vehicle was also heavily involved in the collision, though it came to a stop off to the side of the road with what appeared to be lesser damage. Miraculously, the operator of the second car escaped uninjured.
First responders worked swiftly under flashing emergency lights to extricate the trapped driver from the wreckage. The victim was immediately rushed to an area hospital for urgent medical treatment. Authorities have not yet released updates regarding the driver’s current condition or the extent of their injuries.
Both heavily damaged vehicles were subsequently cleared and towed from the scene as police blocked off the area to piece together how the devastating rollover occurred. The exact circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation by the Pawtucket Police Department.
