Lakeville first responders responded to the area of Pond Cemetery on Bedford Street this afternoon following a reported motor vehicle crash.
The crash occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. Initial response included Engine 1 and Ambulance 2, staffed by the department’s on-duty crew of three firefighters.
Upon arrival, firefighters found two seriously injured occupants and immediately requested an additional ambulance and supplemental staffing. A department staffing recall was initiated, and the Fire Chief responded with Ambulance 3. Three recalled firefighters also responded to assist.
An adult male with life-threatening injuries was treated at the scene before being transported by Ambulance 2 to St. Luke’s Hospital. Due to the severity of his condition, four firefighters were dedicated to his care during transport.
An adult female was transported by Ambulance 3, staffed by two firefighters, to St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
With both ambulances committed to patient transport, Engine 1 and Squad 3 remained on scene until the incident was cleared.
