Swansea Wine & Spirits has officially arrived at 510 Wilbur Avenue, celebrating its soft opening on Saturday and bringing a fresh new shopping experience to the community.
The new store represents a major investment in Swansea, with more than $1 million committed toward purchasing and renovating the property. The 6,600-square-foot location has transformed the former Walgreens site — which closed permanently in June 2025 as part of the company’s broader store reduction plan — into a modern destination for beverage enthusiasts.
Swansea Wine & Spirits offers an extensive selection of premium spirits, fine wines, craft beer, ready-to-drink beverages (RTDs), local favorites, and everyday essentials. The store also features what it says is the largest walk-in cooler on Route 103, providing customers with an expanded selection of chilled beverages.
In the coming months, shoppers will also be able to purchase Massachusetts State Lottery tickets and play Keno at the store.
The business secured one of Swansea’s five limited package store licenses, which became available after Vintage Barn Wine & Spirits closed and chose not to renew its license. Swansea Wine & Spirits, Inc. received approval for the license in March.
An official grand opening celebration has not yet been scheduled. Planned regular hours will be Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
With its expanded selection, modern design, and convenient location, Swansea Wine & Spirits is set to become a new neighborhood destination for residents looking for quality beverages and everyday convenience.
