On Saturday, July 4, 2026, officers from the New Bedford Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division responded to St. Luke’s Hospital after a woman arrived with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
The preliminary investigation determined that the shooting occurred in the Temple Landing/Magnet Park area of the city’s West End. Responding officers and detectives later located shell casings at the scene.
The victim was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital for her injuries. The incident remains under active investigation by the New Bedford Police Department’s Major Crimes Division.
