The Fall River Police Department is recognizing the distinguished careers of Sergeant John Ruggiero and Lieutenant Jason Pacheco, who this week officially began using their accumulated leave time as they transition into retirement, concluding more than 30 years of dedicated service each to the City of Fall River and the Fall River Police Department.
Throughout their careers, Sergeant Ruggiero and Lieutenant Pacheco exemplified professionalism, integrity, and steadfast leadership while serving and protecting the Fall River community. Their commitment to public safety has had a lasting impact on the department, the officers they mentored, and the residents they faithfully served over the past three decades.
As they begin this well-earned next chapter, the department reflects with gratitude on their many contributions and the legacy they leave behind.
“Sergeant Ruggiero and Lieutenant Pacheco have devoted their careers to serving the people of Fall River with honor and distinction,” the department said in a statement. “Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence have strengthened this department and made a lasting difference in our community.”
