
A 26-year-old Rhode Island man was killed in a crash that closed Route 146 southbound for nearly three hours near the Rhode Island-Massachusetts state line Saturday night.
Massachusetts State Police said the crash happened at approximately 10:48 p.m. The impact caused the man to be ejected from his vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle involved in the crash were also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Route 146 southbound remained closed until about 2 a.m. Sunday as emergency crews responded to the scene and investigators worked to determine what led to the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
