Earlier this evening, Massachusetts State Police received multiple emergency calls reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle with injuries. Based on the initial reports, Massachusetts State Police immediately activated Fire and EMS resources.
Fall River EMS Squad 12 and Medic 5, along with Fall River Fire Engine 6 and Massachusetts State Police, responded to Route 79 for the crash.
Upon arrival, crews immediately went into action. Medic 5, one of the many units staffed by one paramedic and one EMT, quickly began assessing and treating the injured patient.
One patient was found with significant injuries and was rapidly extricated and placed into the ambulance for transport. Medic 5 and Squad 12 transported the patient to Rhode Island Hospital Trauma Center, with three paramedics and one Advanced EMT providing care during the response.
Due to the severity of the patient’s injuries, care was transferred to the medical team at Rhode Island Hospital for continued critical care.
