
ROCHESTER, MA — August 8, 2026 — The Rochester Police Department is investigating a serious domestic violence incident that occurred at a residence in town last night, resulting in injuries to two victims and the arrest of a male suspect.
Rochester Police received a 911 call reporting an ongoing physical domestic disturbance. Information provided to responding officers indicated that a female victim had sustained serious injuries.
Rochester Police officers immediately responded to the residence, secured the scene, and took a male suspect into custody. Officers provided aid to the victims until emergency medical personnel arrived. Two victims were subsequently transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.
Following the arrest, Rochester Police officers remained on scene to conduct an extensive investigation and process the scene for evidence. The Rochester Police Department is fortunate to have officers with specialized training in crime scene photography, evidence identification, collection, preservation, and documentation. Those skills were utilized as officers thoroughly documented and processed the scene.
The suspect, Theodore Labelle, has been charged with:
- Two counts of Mayhem
- Assault with Intent to Maim
- Two counts of Assault to Murder
- Two counts of Domestic Assault and Battery
- Strangulation/Suffocation
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
Additional charges may be pending.
Labelle is currently being held on $50,000 cash bail.
The incident remains under active investigation by the Rochester Police Department. Because this matter involves an alleged domestic violence incident and remains pending before the court, no additional information regarding the victims will be released at this time.
