Following a month-long narcotics investigation, troopers and task force officers arrested Miguel Soto-Castillo of Lawrence on Thursday, September 17. A search warrant executed at his residence uncovered approximately 20 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, around $42,000 in U.S. currency, and various processing and packaging materials.
The operation was conducted by the Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team (CINRET)-North alongside the Lawrence Police Department and regional federal and local partners. Soto-Castillo was initially arrested for possession of over 100 grams of fentanyl, processed at the MSP Andover Barracks, and held pending his arraignment in Lawrence District Court.
