A 27-hour search for a missing Massachusetts woman ended with good news Sunday morning after hikers located Megan Kelley alive near mountain biking trails in Gorham, New Hampshire.
Kelley, 39, of Fall River, Massachusetts, had been reported missing after she was last seen at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, walking in the Dolly Copp Campground in New Hampshire. Her disappearance prompted an extensive, multi-agency search involving New Hampshire Fish and Game, conservation officers, canine teams, and drone units.
As the search continued through Saturday and into Sunday, family members also turned to social media, sharing updates on Facebook to help spread awareness and encourage the public to report any information that could assist search crews.
The search came to a successful conclusion on Sunday morning, Aug. 2, when hikers found Kelley near mountain biking trails in Gorham. Emergency responders from Gorham Fire & EMS transported her to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for evaluation and treatment.
Authorities said Kelley suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was reported to be in safe condition. Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
The successful outcome marked the end of an intensive 27-hour operation that brought together multiple emergency response agencies and community members working to locate Kelley safely.
