There is something undeniably magical about youth, grit, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. For the members of the NBHS Whaler Marching Band, their farthest competition of the season proved that true passion doesn’t freeze—it ignites.
Traveling to the NESBA Reading marching band competition, the students faced biting, freezing temperatures. But instead of letting the weather chill their spirits, they leaned into the challenge. Armed with discipline, tireless hard work, and an electric sense of camaraderie, they stepped onto the field and delivered a performance that left audiences and judges alike in awe.
When the final notes faded and the scores were tallied, the Whalers didn’t just win—they conquered.
A Sweeping Victory
The band brought home a sensational suite of accolades:
- 1st Place – Division III
- Overall Score: 86.82
- Best Music
- Best Visual
Behind these numbers lies a deeper story of growth. Week after week, their production, titled “HOME,” has grown stronger, more vivid, and more powerful. It is a testament to the fact that greatness isn’t born overnight; it is built through countless hours of rehearsal, unwavering determination, and a refusal to back down when things get tough.
The Journey Continues
As the team proudly brings home another first-place finish, they are already looking ahead. With “Whaler Pride” burning brighter than ever, the next stop is Dartmouth High School on Saturday, October 24.
For these students, every week is another opportunity to work, another chance to grow, and another chapter in a remarkable season. One thing is certain: they aren’t done building yet.
Let’s go, Whalers!
