The biggest plays you will ever make off the field are the ones that save a life.
On National Start the Heart Day, Fall River Public Schools welcomed a star-studded lineup—including representatives from the New England Patriots, the New England Patriots Foundation, and the American Heart Association—for a landmark CPR training and equipment donation event. Thanks to their incredible generosity, all 18 FRPS schools have officially been equipped with brand-new CPR training kits.
Hands-On Training for Educators and Students
To kick off the initiative, one Physical Education teacher from every school participated in intensive hands-on professional development. Educators learned crucial techniques for recognizing cardiac emergencies, performing hands-only CPR, and properly utilizing an AED.
The momentum won’t stop with the faculty. Starting later this fall, students in grades four through nine will also begin learning these vital, life-saving skills, ensuring the entire community builds a culture of preparedness.
Star-Studded Support for a Lifesaving Mission
The special event brought plenty of excitement to the district, featuring appearances by Patriots front office staff, cheerleaders, mascot Pat Patriot, and former linebacker, Pro Football Hall of Famer, and the team’s Executive Director of Community Affairs, Andre Tippett. They were joined by local educational leaders, including FRPS Director of Health and Physical Education Dan Fitzgerald, Deputy Superintendent Liz Legault, and School Committee members Stewart and Dias.
District leadership extended deep gratitude to the Kraft family, the New England Patriots , the New England Patriots Foundation , and the American Heart Association for investing in local schools and arming students and educators with the knowledge and confidence to make a life-saving difference.
