A frightening incident on the Bridgewater State University campus on Saturday morning has resulted in multiple felony charges against an East Weymouth man.
Police say the suspect, who had been involved in a prior road rage incident in East Bridgewater, intentionally drove his vehicle into two students on Burrill Avenue near the Moakley Center. Video evidence confirmed the act was deliberate, though officials note the driver was not targeting those specific students.
One student was transported to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries, while the other suffered minor injuries. The suspect was apprehended near the scene and faces two counts of attempted murder, reckless operation, leaving the scene of personal injury, and additional motor vehicle violations.
Sending strength to the injured students and the BSU community for a full recovery. 🙏
