A 52-year-old Fall River man died Thursday after he was struck by a front loader at a recycling facility in Freetown, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
Freetown police and emergency medical personnel responded to Excel Recycling at 17 Ridge Road shortly before noon, at about 11:58 a.m., after receiving 911 calls reporting that a man had been injured by a front loader, the DA’s office said.
Officers arrived to find the man, identified as David Torres, an Excel Recycling employee, on the ground near the front loader with what authorities described as “significant injuries.”
Torres was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the DA’s office.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
