Posted by the RSG Contracting Corporation: “We’re still kicking.”
Nearly 24 hours in, crews have continued working around the clock at the scene of the fire in Fall River. After a brief opportunity to catch some sleep in their trucks, the crew was right back at it. With the N’oreaster bearing down work had to be be paused for the night.
At one point, workers had to carefully open up the middle of the building to reach embers burning in the basement. Thankfully, it now appears the fire has been fully extinguished.
This has been a true all-hands effort. Huge thanks to the Fall River Fire Department, Fall River Police Department, Inspectional Services, and the many other city personnel who worked together to keep the operation moving safely throughout the night.
And an extra-big thank-you to the coffee that kept everyone going. ☕️
RSG Contracting Corporation was on site throughout the night performing an emergency demolition of the fire-damaged structures, working to bring them down safely before the approaching nor’easter winds could potentially do it themselves.
Please continue to steer clear of the area and watch for equipment, crews, and road closures.
