LAKEVILLE, Mass. — Three people were taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon following an officer-involved shooting at a home on Heritage Hill Drive, according to the Lakeville Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the residence after receiving a report of a disturbed person who may have been under the influence and armed with a firearm. During the response, an officer-involved shooting occurred.
Officers immediately provided medical aid to an injured man before Lakeville Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital for treatment. Two Lakeville police officers were also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
Lakeville Police said all further media inquiries should be directed to the District Attorney’s Office.
