Despite a name that suggests chaos, Calamity is anything but. This 5-year-and-8-month-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix is a polite, mature, and remarkably well-mannered lady who has spent nearly five months waiting at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River, Massachusetts, for someone to notice her.
To help this affectionate “gentle giant” finally find her place, her adoption fee has been fully sponsored—meaning her future family pays nothing to bring her home.
A Sporty Soul with A Heart of Gold
Weighing in at 85 pounds, Calamity is a large lady, but she wears her size with grace. Shelter staff describe her as an even-tempered, athletic girl who loves to play but knows how to keep her cool. She is not the kind of dog to bounce off the walls or run wild through the house; instead, she’s a refined companion who simply enjoys regular exercise and a good game of fetch. In fact, she’s so playful and self-sufficient that she will happily play fetch with herself when toys are around!
Calamity is also a star pupil on a leash—a rare trait for a dog of her build—and already knows her basic cues. Beneath her athletic frame lies a total lovebug who lives for human affection once she gets to know you.
