A early-morning fire tore through a three-story Pleasant Street home Friday, sending two people to the hospital for anxiety and leaving several residents displaced.
The Fall River Fire Department responded to 1161 Pleasant Street just before 5:30 a.m. after reports of heavy smoke and visible flames. Arriving crews encountered active flames on the first floor and immediately launched an attack with hose lines while secondary teams performed primary searches on the upper floors.
Despite challenging access conditions caused by the home’s tight location, firefighters successfully contained the bulk of the fire to the first floor, preventing significant extension to the upper levels.
