Gerald “Gerry” Mello, 79, of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late John and Lydia (Pacheco) Mello.
A cherished member of the Fall River community, Gerry was actively involved with Greater Fall River RE-CREATION, formerly known as CD-REC. He was also an avid sports fan, with a special place in his heart for the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Gerry appreciated the simple pleasures of everyday life. He looked forward to his daily coffee from Sip N Dip on South Main Street, took pride in raking leaves during the colorful autumn months, and found satisfaction in shoveling snow during the quiet winter season.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Lake and her husband, Larry, of Santa Rosa, California; his stepbrother, Steven Mello and his wife, Michelle, of Fall River; and his nephew, Jeffrey Mello, who made a special tradition of taking Gerry to Red Sox games each year.
Gerry also leaves behind his boss and close friend, Grace, who cared for him deeply and looked after him at work. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his warm presence, his love of sports, his appreciation for life’s everyday moments, and the many connections he made throughout his community.
