Three people have been arrested following a series of reported vehicle break-ins early Tuesday morning on Summer Street in New Bedford.
Just after 4:20 a.m., officers responded to the area after receiving a report of three males breaking into parked motor vehicles.
When officers arrived, they located three males sitting on the porch of a residence on Summer Street, near the reported break-ins.
During the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance footage showing all three males entering a parked vehicle and accessing its trunk. Officers also found a second vehicle that appeared to have been rummaged through, with property scattered throughout the vehicle and the glove compartment left open.
The individuals were detained and identified as Caspar Gonzalez, 18, of Brockton; Odair Rodrigues, 26, of Brockton; and a 16-year-old juvenile from outside New Bedford.
Officers recovered several items in the immediate vicinity of the three individuals, along with additional items found in the possession of Rodrigues and Gonzalez that are believed to be connected to the vehicle break-ins.
All three were charged with two counts each of breaking and entering into a depository.
