Yesterday, Team Cabral was honored to join Massachusetts Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development Lauren Jones for two important stops in New Bedford.
Our first visit was to Pace Community Food Center for a YouthWorks visit, where we saw firsthand how the program connects young people with summer and year-round employment while providing valuable soft-skills training and supports, including transportation, to help reduce barriers to work.
We then visited Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School for the announcement of a Career Technical Initiative (CTI) grant. CTI, a partnership between the Commonwealth and Commonwealth Corporation, helps build skilled-worker pipelines in construction, the trades, and manufacturing through adult training, credentialing, and job placement.
Investments in youth employment and career technical education strengthen our local workforce and create new pathways for New Bedford residents of all ages to pursue good-paying, in-demand careers.
Thank you to everyone who helped make these visits possible—and to all those who worked to bring the CTI grant to our district!
